ਇੰਚਾਰਜ ਦਾ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼

ਪਿਆਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਓ,
ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ, ਇਜ਼ਰਾਈਲ ਦੀ ਹਿਬਰੂ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ, 1961 ਦੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਐਕਟ ਨੰਬਰ 35 ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਰਾਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇੱਕ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢਲਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਮੁੱਖ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ, ਕਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨਾ ਸੀ, ਬਾਅਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਜ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਵਿਭਾਗਾਂ/ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਖੇਤੀ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸੂਬਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਇਸ ਦੀ ਆਬਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੇਂਡੂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਆਰੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਬੂਹੇ 'ਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਾਉਣ ਲਈ, ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਮਾਲਵਾ ਪੱਟੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰਲੇ ਇਲਾਕਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਂਸਟੀਚੂਐਂਟ ਕਾਲਜ ਸਥਾਪਿਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੀਰਾਂਪੁਰ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰਾਜ ਅਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰ ਸਰਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਵਿੱਤੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਲ 2012 ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਂਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ। ਆਪਣੀ ਸਥਾਪਨਾ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਇਹ ਸੰਸਥਾ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਖਾਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਲੜਕੀਆਂ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਵਰਦਾਨ ਸਾਬਤ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਉੱਚ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਕੀ ਸਟਾਫ਼ ਦੇ ਸਮੂਹਿਕ ਯਤਨਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੀ.ਏ., ਬੀ.ਕਾਮ, ਬੀ.ਸੀ.ਏ., ਬੀ.ਬੀ.ਏ. ਅਤੇ ਪੀ.ਜੀ.ਡੀ.ਸੀ.ਏ. ਕੋਰਸ ਆਪਣੀ ਖੇਤਰੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪੜਾਏ ਜਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ। ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ-ਨਾਲ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਾਧੂ ਸਹਿ-ਪਾਠਕ੍ਰਮ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਐਨ.ਐਸ.ਐਸ, ਖੇਡਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਯੁਵਕ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਗ ਲੈਣ ਲਈ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਵਪੱਖੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਐਕਸਟੈਨਸ਼ਨ ਲੈਕਚਰ, ਸਿੰਪੋਜ਼ੀਅਮ, ਸੈਮੀਨਾਰਾਂ/ਵਰਕਸ਼ਾਪਾਂ ਆਦਿ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਿਆਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਭਰ ਰਹੇ ਮੁੱਦਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਸੁਚੇਤ ਰੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਨਾਲ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਲੱਬਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂਕਿ ਰੈੱਡ ਰਿਬਨ ਕਲੱਬ, ਸੰਪਾਦਕੀ ਬੋਰਡ, ਕਾਮਰਸ ਸੁਸਾਇਟੀ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ, ਰਿਲੀਜੀਅਸ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ, ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ ਸਾਇੰਸ ਸੋਸਾਇਟੀ (CSS) ਵਿੱਚ ਵੰਡਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਲਜ ਵਿਖੇ ਮੁਕਾਬਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰੇਰਣਾਦਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਗਰਾਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ ਨੇ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ ਪੱਧਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਲੋੜਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੂਰਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਸਥਾਨ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਇਸ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ, ਮੈਂ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਜਵਲ ਭਵਿੱਖ ਲਈ ਸ਼ੁਭਕਾਮਨਾਵਾਂ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਮੀਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇੱਥੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਚੰਗੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਵਜੋਂ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਸੰਪੱਤੀ ਦਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਬਣਨ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਮਾਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।

Dear Students,
After Hebrew University of Israel, Punjabi University Patiala established in the state of Punjab through Punjab Act No. 35 of 1961 is the second university of the world named after a language. The initial mandate for this university was to promote the cause of Punjabi Language, Art and Culture primarily, subsequently, it has taken under its ambit other streams of education and research also. Punjab is an agrarian state because of which a vast chunk of its population lives in villages. To bring the quality education at the doorsteps for rural folk, University Campuses has been established in the hinterland of Malwa belt of Punjab. University College Miranpur is one of such campuses which came in existence in the year 2012 with the assistance rendered by state and central governments. Since its inception, this institution has turned out a boon to the rural students especially the girls as they are getting the higher education near their place of residence. With the collective efforts of teaching and administrative staff the courses such as B.A., B.Com, B.C.A., B.B.A. and PGDCA are running to their finest attributes in their regional language too i.e. Punjabi. Along with the academics the students are being honed in extra co-curricular activities like NSS, Sports and other Youth Activities. The pupils are exposed to extension lectures, symposiums, seminars/workshops etc. for their overall development. Keeping in view the interests of the students and with the idea to keep them update about the emerging issues, the college students have been classified into different clubs as well as academic bodies like Red Ribbon Club, Editorial Board, Commerce Society, Punjabi Literature and Language Society, Religious Studies Society, Computer Science Society (CSS) which organize competitions and motivational programs. The college has carved out a niche in catering the educational needs of higher standards amongst the rural students. Through this message, I extend my best wishes to the students for their bright future and hope that they will be nourished here to become the valuable asset for our country and make us proud.
