ਕਰਨਾਟਕ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਐਕਟ 1983 ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਮਾਨਯੋਗ ਸੁਪਰੀਮ ਕੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਇੱਕ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਹੈ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੀਰਾਂਪੁਰ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਲਈ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਪੇਸ਼ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।ਇਸ ਕਾਲਜ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ, ਖੇਡਾਂ, ਕੈਫੇਟੇਰੀਆ, ਆਦਿ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰੂਪਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ 'ਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਬੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕੈਂਪਸ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੋਵੇ ਜਾਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜਾਈ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਾਧਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਵੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਜਨਤਕ ਹੋਣ ਜਾਂ ਨਿੱਜੀ, ਕਾਲਜ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸਖਤ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰੇਗਾ। ਐਂਟੀ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਸੈੱਲ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਲਿਖਤੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਤੰਤਰ ਤੌਰ 'ਤੇ ਖੋਜਣ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ ਦਾਇਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਕਾਲਜ 'ਉੱਚ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੰਸਥਾਵਾਂ 2009 ਵਿੱਚ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਦੇ ਖਤਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਰੋਕਣ' 'ਤੇ UGC ਨਿਯਮਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਪਾਬੰਦ ਹੈ। ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਮੀਰਾਂਪੁਰ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਵਿਖੇ ਅੱਜ ਤੱਕ ਰੈਗਿੰਗ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਘਟਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਵਾਪਰੀ।

Ragging is a criminal offence as per Karnataka Educational Act 1983 and Hon'ble Supreme Court of India. University College Miranpur, Patiala ensures strict compliance on the prevention of Ragging in any form. Ragging in all its forms is totally banned in this college premises (academic, residential, sports, cafeteria, etc.) whether located within the campus or outside and in all means of transportation of students whether public or private. The college shall take strict action including but not limited to criminal proceeding and/or cancellation of admission against those found guilty of ragging and/or of abetting ragging and the burden of proof shall hereby lie on the perpetrator of alleged ragging and not on the victim. An offence of Ragging may be charged either on a written complaint by the affected or on independent finding of the Anti Ragging Cell. The College is bound by the UGC Regulations on 'Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions 2009'. The college has founded an Anti – Ragging Cell which governs the prevention of any means of Ragging either within or outside the college. There have been no incidents of Ragging at University College Miranpur, Patiala till date.
